I am running for City Council because I want to ensure that Mountain View residents thrive. As your councilwoman, I will work to preserve and improve our community, our neighborhoods and our quality of life. I will protect and increase our open space and work to make our city environmentally sustainable. I will focus on the programs we need for child development, for keeping families in Mountain View and for empowering seniors in our community.
My background has prepared me well to serve as your councilwoman. I have worked in technology and public policy. I earned a law degree from Santa Clara University. I understand the pressures facing our city and will bring sound judgment when making financial and policy decisions. I am the only candidate who has worked in both high tech at companies including Synopsys, Cisco, and Fujitsu and in public policy as Legislative Counsel in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Our General Plan is a contract between the city and the people and as such I will work to preserve our neighborhoods and maintain Mountain View’s character. I know there will be proposals for zoning changes and my first input will be from you. All of my decisions will be guided with the following principle: Will the residents of Mountain View benefit? I will work tirelessly to create more affordable housing for our residents and working families as well as build new alternative modes of transportation and safer bicycle and pedestrian lanes.
Our Parks and Open spaces are the crown jewels of our city and I will work to preserve and expand them. I am dedicated to environmental preservation and sustainability. I have worked for Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice in their environment divisions. I have drafted legislation to ensure the EPA works more efficiently with local municipalities and received and Environmental Law scholarship while in law school.
What differentiates me from the other candidates is that I will create services for Mountain View residents to make our great city a more livable place to reside. I will create more summer learning programs for children and STEM courses for residents of all ages to help create pathways to better paying jobs for our underrepresented minority groups. I will continue to support and expand services and our Senior Center and support programs that will ensure our resident businesses small and large continue to prosper.
I have been endorsed by the Santa Clara County Democratic Party, the Democratic Activist for Women Now, Congressman Mike Honda, Jac Siegel, current Mountain View Council member, Laura Macias former Mountain View Mayor, as well as many residents and business owners.
I will listen to what is important to you. I will ask you what you think about our city issues. I will be your voice and make sure your views are heard. I respectfully ask for your vote to continue making Mountain View an even better city.
I won’t let you down.
